This week is Fire Prevention Week. The National Fire Protection Association‘s theme is “Hear the Beep Where you Sleep” to remind you that every bedroom needs a working smoke alarm. In addition to functioning smoke alarms, there are many safe practices that can help prevent fires and promote electrical safety through your home.

Each year, approximately 3,500 people are killed and 18,000 are injured due to fires.
The start of cold weather means it’s the season for warmth and comfort. Eventually, fireplaces, heating systems, personal heaters, and candles will be used. In order to protect your family, it’s important to ensure that everything is installed correctly, maintained efficiently, and in proper working order.
